Optima OP5-W is a thin and light Laptop that costs only $350, manufactured by Chinese manufacturer with Intel Atom N280 1.66ghz, 1. Since Optima was founded back in 1990 we've installed more computers than we would care to admit! Technology has obviously come a long way since then but our core values have remained. Every device we set up is immaculate and sourced only from manufacturers we trust. The only software installed will be precisley what you need. Sun Java plugin
Some Optima functionalities are Java applications which require a Sun Java plugin for your browser. We recommend using the latest versions. Java plugin is a part of the Java SERuntimeEnvironment (JRE) which you should install in order to use Java applications.
Functionalities in Optima which require Java are:
Upload multiple documents from your computer
Editing external documents (edit applet)
Upload Scorm material from your computer
Voice recorder (most users have access to a newer, flash-based Video and voice recorder)
Form (creating and editing a form)
Survey (visual summary)
Chat
You can find the latest JRE here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Here you can test whether your JRE version is sufficient:: http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Choose under 'Java Platform, Standardedtition' the link Download JRE and after accepting the terms, choose the correct version of JRE according to your operating system. Read the instructions carefully and follow them.
For Interner Explorer, one change needs to be made in the settings after installing the Java Runtime Environment:
